Lamborghini + Asus

I am not a big fans of cars, and haven't been able to understand the form of cars, its too complex! This new laptop by Asus is a collaboration with Lamborghini. As the name suggests, its designed in mind with essense of the car. I really like the combination of material used, especially the leather part. Nice detailing too. Great effort done as compared to the Ferrari laptop (by Acer), which was kinda disappointing, more like a cosmestic color change only.

3D graphics

2D graphics, we have seen lots on prints. How about 3D graphics? I really like the fusion of both graphics and materials. Sony + Master Craft Lombardia have create some interesting prototypes. Consumer electronics fused with craft, somewhat design & art. It will be cool if Sony changes its look. Sony Qualia extension has done a good job by creating this premium look and hmm, but the brand lifespan was short. What's next?

Display Fabric

Electronics giant Philips has filed a patent for an as-yet-unnamed "display fabric" that operates by controlling hairs. Each pixel is made of fabric of a certain color, and embedded with hairs of a different color. When the hairs lay flat, all you see is their color; apply an electrostatic charge and the hairs stand up, revealing the color of the fabric beneath. -via Core77

ahhhhh...cool! doesn't it reminds of our NDP parade? Huge "human graphic panels", you know what I mean? Hmm, big idea like Hidden surprise, Camouflage, Revealing, Tactiliy, Texture, Haptics.......... so much application & implicaiton. Think further...
